Asda – Counter Replacement

Following ASDA’s decision to removal all fish and meat counters across the estate, we were set the task to project manage the removal of the counters and implement a temporary solution until new concessionaires were agreed.

Once removed and ASDA partners agreed, Onyx project managed the installation of the new offers, these projects required working within existing space created by the removal of the fish and meat counters and in some cases reworking the existing counter line (Pizza and Rotis) or adding additional chilled and ambient space.

  • Asda – Self Checkout Operations (SCO) Upgrade

    A nationwide programme to transform the self-scan zones.

    This project required the contractors to work in a live environment with added covid restrictions, always keeping contractors and our client’s staff safe.
    The 2020 SCO project ran over 23 weeks, covering 230 stores.

    The 2021 SCO Project was larger, running over 40 weeks, covering 360 stores.

    We also took on some additional works installing new Lion tills into kiosks in 12 stores.

  • Morrisons – Reset & Café

    • Client: Morrisons
    • Location: Morley, West Yorkshire

    The project required us to work in a live trading store ensuring the store was ready for customers arriving from 7am every morning, whilst maintaining full product range throughout the duration of the scheme.

    The scheme was planned at five weeks and all phases were landed as per programme.

    The scope of works included:

  • Salesfloor fixture and commodity relay
  • Formation of new community room
  • Removal of existing security room and cig bunker
  • Formation of new Brew offer
  • Refurbishment of staff areas
  • Full refurbishment of customer café to current spec
  • Installation of new roll in milk cases



  • Asda – Refresh

    Acting as Client Agent for ASDA, and working with Greggs, ONYX have overseen the installation of the first 5 instore Greggs counters within the ASDA Estate.
